I studied Translation and Interpretation (University of Alicante and Hogeschool Antwerpen/KU Leuven, 2015) and, subsequently, I moved to Barcelona to study a Master's degree in Translation, Interpretation and Intercultural Studies with a specialization in Conference Interpreting (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, 2016). Once I started my professional activity in the field of teaching, I also completed a Master's degree in Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, 2018) and, recently, I finished the Master's degree in Professional Edition (Taller de los Libros, 2024), organized by Editorial Ático de los Libros.
I am member of ASETRADI have more than 200 hours of specialized training in the following areas legal translation by the Academy of Great Translators and I continue to actively train myself by taking specialized courses and obtaining certificates, such as some of those organized by associations like ASETRAD and ATRAE and companies like RWS, about translation of comics and graphic novels, translation of board games, artificial intelligence in the field of translation and interpreting o poseditionamong other subjects. I have also worked in the offices of a publishing house correcting texts of various nature (short stories, manga, historical books...) for different publishing houses.
In addition to having more than 1000 hours of teaching English and Spanish behind me, in 2013 I started working on my first assignments, starting with video game localization and comic book translation and proofreading. After a long period in which I combined translation with other activities, in 2023 I decided to dedicate myself solely to the translation, proofreading and interpreting sector. Through many hours of training and hands-on experience, I have specialized in video game localization, translation and proofreading of comics and other literary texts, legal translation y translation in academia and education.
The liaison interpreting is another of my specialties and I really enjoy the close contact that this modality implies, since it allows me to accompany my clients at all times and work side by side so that their projects grow and reach new horizons.
On a personal level, chess is one of my great passions (both personally and professionally, since I usually collaborate as a volunteer in the Lichess platform translating and correcting texts in Spanish and Catalan) and I am a great lover of science fiction, dark fantasy and essays. I also follow with interest current affairs and everything related to the geopolitical field and the military industry, and I am a staunch enthusiast of board games and the world of videogames.
TOOLS AND LABOR:
I am used to working with SDL Trados 2022but I also handle other tools such as MemoQ y Crowdin and I am familiar with OmegaT and various CAT web platforms. In addition, I am also proficient in InDesign to be able to lay out texts and manage projects that require its use, as well as the package Office 365 and its open versions: OpenOffice and LibreOffice.
Each text has to be treated and evaluated individually, as the levels of specialization, technicality and complexity, as well as the need for documentation, can vary greatly from one case to another. In addition, ideally it is always necessary to allow some time to review the project again to ensure the naturalness and fluency of the text. However, I am generally able to translate between 2000 and 3000 words per day and of review and proofread around 6,000 words per dayHowever, everything will depend on the characteristics of the text and the needs of the assignment.
